CREA periodically organizes free informational and training events on cutting-edge topics such as pharmaceuticals, vaccines, the environment, and nanotechnologies. These events aim to raise awareness about these issues and generate interest in the crucial role of research and its advancement.
CREA hosts students from the Department of Biotechnology, Chemistry, and Pharmacy at the University of Siena for internships, as well as recent graduates for placements. Through this exposure to the working world, students have the opportunity to attend scientific presentations on research and analyses conducted by CREA staff, engage with professionals in fields they might aspire to in their future careers, and enhance their academic training with hands-on experience.
CREA also offers training courses for laboratory technicians upon request, to ensure they are qualified to use the equipment available at the center.
Furthermore, CREA serves as the inter-provincial headquarters for the Higher Technical Institute of Siena, Arezzo, and Grosseto “Energy and Environment,” as well as for the 2nd level Master’s program in Integrated Medicine, a two-year course coordinated by Prof. Eugenio Bertelli.
Finally, CREA was the site of the degree program in Chemistry and Materials Technology at the University of Siena until June 2010.
